Mariko is a f&b professional, always thinking about what to drink and eat next. Can often be found slurping sake, wine, coffee and water while dreaming up imaginary potato chip flavour combinations.

Creator of Hakko Gakko, IWC sake judge and WSET sake educator, Mariko’s goal is to excite people by bringing to life the world of fermentation and the people behind the bottles.

Mariko has over 16 years of experience working with sake and wine in the Canadian market: importing, educating and promoting niche beverages. She has extensive knowledge of navigating the government monopolies, in particular the BCLDB and LCBO.
